Avast Antivirus Protect Review

Avast antivirus protection

Avast is one of the biggest names in cybersecurity market. It is renowned for outstanding security and malware detection and provides a wide range of additional security features like a boot-time scanner and virtual desktop. It is also compatible with many devices, and comes with the option of a free VPN.

There are three plans available, depending on how many devices you wish to cover. It can also be installed on Macs and Android devices.

During our tests, Avast detected every single piece of malware on all of the systems we tested it on. This is quite an accomplishment, considering that the software detects more than 1.5 billion threats each month.

The software’s fast boot-time scanning is a different feature. It will scan your system for potentially harmful files prior to Windows starts. It took less than an hour to run the entire scan on a computer that was running Windows 10.

Avast also offers a number of other security tools that are aimed to protect information. Its Sensitive Document Shield is able to detect sensitive documents such as tickets, invoices and resumes. It couldn’t find any sensitive files on the computer I tried it on, however.

Avast’s email guardian will also check your account for suspicious attachments or phishing sites. It also provides an option called Bank Mode that provides a virtual desktop protected from keystroke loggers, screenshot attempts and other malicious applications. Avast’s privacy policies are good. The company claims it only collects data that is required for security, and its analytics business Jumpshot only sells the information to large corporations once it has been “de-identified.”
