Hacking Viruses and Other Malicious Viruses

Viruses can replicate themselves on computer and phone systems, rendering them inoperable. They accomplish this by attaching themselves to files and programs which are then unnoticed. This allows viruses to spread through the entire system. They can be disguised in unsecure apps, music files, videos games, photos, and toolbars.

The main reason hackers hack is to take information or cause financial harm to businesses. Hackers use many methods to gain access to sensitive information which includes brute force attacks such as encryption, polymorphic codes as well as phishing and other. Once they have gained access to this information, hackers may sell it or use it to build a botnet that can be used to attack other systems or users.

Some viruses are designed to steal passwords and personal data such as dates of birth. These viruses are referred to as ransomware. Ransomware attacks are very common and have even affected large businesses such as the Colonial Pipeline, JBS (world’s largest meatpacker) and the Steamship Authority ferry company.

Hackers also have the ability to steal information by attacking websites that are not protected. They can do this by employing a technique known as exploit kits. Exploit kits are software applications that scan a website for vulnerabilities and install malicious software on your device.

The best way to stay safe from being hacked is by keeping your operating system, applications and devices up to the latest version. These updates include security patches that close crucial holes that hackers love to exploit. Also, make sure you choose passwords that are secure. A good rule of thumb is to not use any word from the dictionary, or any personal information like your date of birth.
